This university was quite a big deal. The first president of China went there, and his statute was outside the grounds. China has so much history.
Each province in China has a local trade they are known for. In Faithlynn's province, embroidery was the trade they were known for. We went to tour the local embroidery university to see what it was all about. It was INCREDIBLE. I have never seen anything like it.
To think that all of this is made of a needle and little thread is amazing. The video of the woman working by herself would take a whole year to complete. The video with eight women working would take six months for them to complete.
This school embroidered a family picture for President Bush as a present from the President of China.
A fun side note: our guide was also the guide for Steven Curtis Chapman for one of his adoptions. One of his daughters was from the Hunan Province, and they stayed in the same hotel and everything. It was neat getting to talk to her about him. She said he got the embroidery school to embroider an image of his daughter for about $3,000 US dollars. We didn't get any of the pictures, but we did get 2 beautiful embroidered pillows.
On this evening, we noticed Faithlynn was running a bit of a fever. We made arrangements to see the orphanage doctor the next day while we were at the orphanage. We went to bed that night anxious about what the next day would hold in more ways than one.

Been following your journey for a while and wondering how things are going. Hope all is well.
